academic shoot critique and reflection

1. one encounter i struggled with was going to all the classes i wanted to go to in a short amount of time
2. I try to get the most complex angles and trying to make sure its a clear picture and in focus.

3. I would probably take more pictures than I did even if they were not good.

4. I would go back to the classes that were doing interesting things like animation.

5. I believe rule of thirds is the easiest rule to follow and the rule that you don't even know that you did.
6.avoiding mergers for some reason I had the most trouble capturing.

7. Avoiding mergers, I'm still trying to figure out and what to use to capture it.

I like how she has her own style and most of the pictures are taken in the sam location.

I think one thing would be good if she had a little more diversity in her photos an make sure they are in focus.

Aperture Shutter speed and Iso

Aperture
aperture f2.8
aperture f16

we relate aperture closely with the pupil of the eye.

the smaller aperture the more focused its on one thing. the bigger aperture the more things its focused on.

Aperture is important on depth of field and is clear and shows what you are focusing on and can make the mood better.

Shutter Speed
High shutter speed

Low Shutter Speed.

A. High shutter speed
B.Low shutter speed
C.High shutter speed
D. high shutter speed
E. high shutter speed
F. high shutter speed

d.low shutter speed
e.low shutter speed
f. low shutter speed

Iso 200
Iso 3200
Iso 6400

The advantages of shooting a high Iso at sport games is you get can get a clear picture even at night.

The author suggested too stay in low Iso around 100 and 200.

The author suggested when using high Iso to shoot night shots or to get a quick shot, outdoor shots.

Photo Manipulation And Ethics.

A.  Some of the main points of photo manipulation in photos it too make a photo look better or make it look fuller or get rid of excess stuff in the picture that looks better without.

B. Many publishing companies don't believe in Photo manipulation such as Washington post and New york Times, and there very strict about there publishers.

C. I believe it is ok too get rid of blurs or specs in the shot that don't look that good, but i don't thin kits ok to manipulate the photograph to change the feeling of he picture.

Academic shoot preview

My favorite photo from the academic and community service section is a picture of a girl leaning over to wiser something to a man to her right and in the background is a blurred american flag.
I like this photo because it shows that she has something important to tell the man and i like the lighting of the picture. this photo contains the roe of thirds aspect and it also shows the main idea.

I think i could take pictures similar to these in nice locations of classrooms and some classrooms I would like to go to wold be the Animation classroom and perhaps a science or art classroom, also culinary. to achieve the great photos like the winners of the Jostens contest I will try to get unique angles and take photos of action and interest.

Most Interesting Stuff

I chose this picture for most interesting stuff because the first thing I said when i saw this photo was what are they doing because its a little mysteriouse of what there doing because its not all clear, but it looks very interesting.

Action and Emotion

I chose this picture for action and emotion because the action in this picture is pretty awesome seeing the bubbles in the air and also there reaction is pretty awesome because there faces look very happy.

The Story

I chose this picture for best story because they are all together praying and I see them as if they could be praying for someone who died or just for prayer.

Post Shoot Reflection

1. Some challenges that I encountered while taking the pictures was finding the perfect picture for the four words. One word i had a little trouble with was square because I wanted something that represented square but also didn't look boring.

2. I really wanted my pictures to turn out clear and in focus so I mades sure I took multiple pictures. Another issue i wanted to make sure went well was how i was holding the camera and getting the best angles and shots that would be a little hard to get.

3. If I was to do this assignment again i would probably find some more complex angles and find some more exciting subjets to photograph.

4. I would keep the intensity I had he first time iI went out and keep the same idea I had in the beginning and shoot that.

5. I used simplicity in one of my pictured also using the rule of thirds in a few of my pictures. those two were the main two I used while taking these pictures.

6. I would like to try some other prompts so that way I can chalenge myself and see what I can do.

Avoiding Mergers

Avoiding Mergers

I chose this picture for mergers because the picture mainly focuses on the man and the flag and blurs out the backround.

Framing

Framing

I chose this picture for framing because the picture is perfectly lined so you see the flag and the firefighters holding up the flag. I also noticed that the picture is symmetrical with one man in the middle and two men on each side of him.

Balance

Balance

The main idea of this picture is the burning towers, but it is balanced out by the woman on the right, and she evens out the picture.

Lines

Lines

The lines in this picture take up the majority of this picture and really show off the plane crash and where the lines break off.

Rule of Thirds

Rule of Thirds

The main idea of this picture is the man on the ladder and instead off just putting him in the middle he is put a little to the left and the ladder is leading from left to right to show where he's going.

simplicity

Simplicity

i chose this picture for simplicity because the main idea in this picture is the towers, and the background is blue sky which really shows off the main idea, the tower.

The Camera

1. Explain the “camera obscura” effect. How is it achieved?

the "camera obscura"  was a optical effect which worked by making a tiny hole in a wall in a dark room and focusing on the light.

2. What invention during the 17th Century helped man get a step closer to creating the modern camera?

The creation of high quality glass lenses took us one step closer.

3. What were the parts of the first modern camera invented by Niepce?

Niepce made the camera with glass lenses, a dark box and film.

4.What do modern digital cameras have in common with Niepce’s camera?

Digital cameras today are very similar because like Niepce's camera light passes through the lens into the camera and exposes the film

5. What do digital cameras use to capture an image?

Digital cameras today use electronic sensors called ccd which store film.

6. What is the difference between the Auto Mode and the Program mode?

Auto mode will take flash and exposes it automatically while program mode lets you control it a little more.

7. What is the Portrait mode used for? How does it work?

Portrait made is made for making the background blurry and having the face clear and crisp.

8. What is the Sports mode used for? (not just sports) How does it work?

Its used to freeze the frame and use the fastest shutter speed and catch the action shots.

9. Why should you do a half press on the trigger button?

The reason for half pressing the button is the focus your picture.

10. What does this symbol mean?

 When would you use this?
This symbol means no flash, and the reason why you would use this would be for taking more dramatic pictures and use more natural light.

11.What does this symbol mean?
When would you use this?

This symbol means auto flash which would be helpful in dark area locations when taking a picture.

12. What happens to your photo if there is too much light?

If there is too much light in my photo then washed out and too blurry.

13. What happens to your photo if there is not enough light?

If there is not enough light in my picture then my picture will be too dark.

14. What is a “stop.”

a stop is used to describe the the different measurements of light.

15. How many stops brighter is the new planet if there are two suns instead of one?

It is 1 stop brighter .

16. How many stops brighter is the new planet if there are four suns instead of two?

It is 2 stops brighter

17. What affect does a longer shutter speed of have?

A longer shutter speed allows more light.

18. What affect does a shorter shutter speed have?

A shorter shutter speed is less light.

19. What does the aperture control?

The aperture controls how much light gets in the lens.

20. When adjusting the aperture, how can you increase the amount of light?

To increase the amount of light you would have to open the aperture open more
