THE BABE BOWS OUT

It was babe ruth saying goodbye to all his new york yankees fans and teammates because the were retiring babe Ruths jersey number 3 and Babe was giving everyone a final bow because Babe was struggling with cancer.

I like this photo because i like how you can see all his fans and his teammates and his jersey.
It also makes me sad because babe dies two months later.

OSCARS SELFIE

In 2014 Ellen hosted the oscars and was doing a bit where she was taking a selfie with meryll street and then she couldn't get the photo then bradley cooper came over and said ill take the photo and so then ellen called over a lot of celebrities and told them to get in the photos and they did and recreated this great photo. I really enjoy this photo because everyone looks so happy and it funny to see all these celebrities all together taking a selfie.

V-J DAY IN TIMES SQUARE
A Sailor kisses a nourse in times square. I like the picture because its happy and everyone around them is happy and its in the middle of times square in new york.

Apparently the man and woman didn't know each other and so a lot of people thought of it as sexual assault.

LUNCH ATOP A SKY SCRAPPER

This picture is on of my favorite photos because its crazy first off to see people just chilling 600 feet above New York without a worry in there face.
these were some of the men who helped build the rockefeller center. The photo was staged to to promote the center.

No one knows who exactly took this photo but there is a few guesses.
such as Charles Ebbets.

What caught my eye was the fact that this was the first picture or evidence of the moon ever. I chose this picture because i think its one of the most important or monumental pictures of our time.
I also like the picture because its a little mysterious, because you cant see his face.

It is taken by neil armstrong and it is of Edwin Alderin. sense Neil armstrong was the first man to step on the moon Edwin got to be the first man photographed on the moon.

1.  In the video the photo shoppers made the girls neck longer and skinnier
they made her lips bigger and they made her eyes bigger, and made her face thinner.

2.  things that were changed or manipulated with in the video were that the models legs were made longer and the models skin color was lightened and smoothed out, they also changed the models legs to be skinner and skinner waist.

3.  In the video the model was made a lot skinner by making her legs, butt waist, back and face all skinner and made her look a little taller.

4.  I think it is not ok to manipulate someones body or face that ,such till the point were they look perfect or really fake, because it makes people think that thats what models look like and that you can't meet that standard, but the truth is, many of the models look like your everyday person.

5.  In the circumstances were it would be wrong to manipulate a photo would be if there is someone that they are depicting as bad in a magazine, or saying someone looks really bad in a magazine and making the photo worse than it actually is.

6.  I think its ok to take out a few wrinkles here and then or take away some pimples and just clean up an image because you can clean up an image and its still your image but if you go to far with the photoshop then you can end up making a completely new photograph.

7.  I think that photo journalism is taking pictures of what is occurring or the now and just taking pictures of life. While on the other hand fashion photography is more like staging pictures and manipulating them to make them more visually appealing or to show off a product and to show what a product can do.

9. I think your showing us these videos because you want to show us how far people go with photoshop and to show what we might not do with our pictures.

10. The reason why there are no guys in the videos is because most of the time women are the ones who care more about there appearance and care what people  think about them and guys not as much, and these videos are to show that you don't need to be perfect and beautiful that everyone isn't perfect.

Magazines part 2

typically magazine covers with a self portrait there will be just one person in them and typically they will be smiling. In another case some photographer will take a different approach and will have the subject not smiling or them standing in a different way. There will be a different subject for each magazine. like if there is a magazine about food then there will be a plate of delicious food on the cover and if there is a travel issue there will be a picture of a landscape or a beautiful place.
Some of the first magazine covers were drawn, and even now people still use the tequnique.

Favorite Portrait

W, December/January, The Art Issue
"For W’s December/January Art Issue, the magazine collaborated with artist Yayoi Kusama to create this iconic cover image depicting George Clooney. The visually arresting image is the highlight of the cover story, for which five leading female artists were invited to create interpretive portraits of the actor. Clooney wears a suit painted by Kusama with her signature polka dots and stands against a polka-dotted backdrop. Planned to coincide with the opening of an exhibition of new work by Kusama at David Zwirner Gallery, the cover makes a powerful reference to the artist’s iconic self-portraits."

This is my favorite of the portrait pictures because, first off George colony is a great actor and a cool looking dude. The suit that he's wearing in this picture is pretty crazy and the design is a lot going on. What interest me is that George Clooney is this cool dude that comes off as tough and suave, and you see him in this polka dot suit, a suit that you typically wouldn't  see him wearing. the background is good too because it blends in the the suit and the pink font works great with the black and white. I kite how he's also in the center of the magazine and he's the main subject.

portrait tips

Some good tips that I learned were to engage your subject, trie unusual angles and to experience with lighting.

I like both these photos because it shows what environment they are in mostly in.
I like the top one because the man looks like an interesting man, and i like the bottom photo because this man also looks very interesting and I wonder what he makes.

I like this photo because its become a classic photo and its cool to see that there was self portraits all the way back during the beatles era.

I like how this photographer used the water lines to his advantage and made the picture much more interesting.

Most casual photos are very boring so I had to search for one that I liked and I found I enjoyed this one because it was a peaceful baby just chilling with some flowers.
Even tho this picture is casual and not as interesting, it still is interesting because the way the man looks and the way the man is posing.

When shooting my portraits and taking them I will take into consideration the tips of trying to get a more interesting perspective with my photos and to also try to capture my main subject and also make it interesting. I do not know exactly what I'm doing but I will most likely take a picture of my brother and take a picture of him in the kitchen because he looking to become a chef and he's in culinary. Or to make it more interesting I could take a picture of him at his job which is Amys ice cream an take a picture of him making ice cream.

American Soldier

A.  The most important photo on my opinion is the picture of Ian coming home and him reacting to it being cold and being happy to come home, which really shows how long he had been in Iraq. Another picture that would be good, is the last picture off Ian and his girlfriend preparing to get married.

B. The images work together to tell a story by showing fans emotions and the things going on in his life.

C. The captions help explain exactly  whats going on or what just happened or explain why the picture is.

D. Ian Fishers journey started off with him leaving from high school at age 17 and joining the army and starting his life in the army. Ian starts off not on the right foot by not enjoying the army and not feeling like he has a spot in the army or back in america in his real life. Ian life feels a little unsettled and lives life with the complications and struggles of being in the army. Soon Ian adapts to the army lifestyle and returns to see his family and marries his girlfriend.

E. The verbs are in present tense.

F. 1. The captions are around 1 to 2 sentences long
2. The first sentence explains what action is going on.
3.The second sentence says a quote that Ian says or a reason for the action.
4. The third sentence explains the details and information about place and date.
5. Yes the captions will include a quote sometimes.
6.There are no captions with four sentences.

G. people can interpret whats going on just by visual things, like watching a movie and telling whats going on and you need little to none text or captions of whats going on.

H. You can't do everything with just pictures and captions and you can do things with pictures that you can't do with words but you can also do things with words that you can't do with pictures.
